ABOUT ME
I am a writer, actor, director, teacher and a graduate of Howard University’s Department of Drama, class of 1977. I am co-founder and Artistic Director of The Real Life Theater Ministries. I have an extensive background in theater, film/video and stand-up comedy. I am a member of SAG/AFTRA, AEA and the Dramatist Guild. In the summer of 2008, I served as a Cultural Envoy to South Africa through U.S. Department of State as a playwright. I returned to South Africa in the summer of 2013 to conduct Theater Workshops in Port Elizabeth.
My writing credits for the stage include, Black Codes From The Underground, (produced by Lincoln Center), Where's Bobby?, Grandma’s Hands, Trip This, The Anansi X-5000 and Ali…From Cassius Clay To Bomaye, Lifeline and the musical A Christ Mass Story. My television project awaiting funding include South Africans-Americans and Beacon Place.
Among my acting credits are Jonin’ (off- Broadway), Michael Jackson’s Bad (music video), America’s Most Wanted (television) and Heavy (feature film).
I currently teach theater in the Newark (NJ) Public Schools.
